Stretching!! Please help!

Hi
I've been cheerleading for a year and a half now and having real trouble getting my splits, I stretch every week almost every day if I can and it seems like I'm getting no where. I'm becoming more flexible in other ways but just not my splits.
They have improved since last year but not as much as I'd have liked.
If anyone can give me advice it would be great!!
